Which EV is right for your daily drive, the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E or the 2024 Honda Prologue? Our comparison guide examines everything we know about the upcoming Prologue and compares it to the stylish Mustang Mach-E. While we’re still waiting to learn more about Honda’s upcoming luxury EV, we think we can give you a better perspective on which model is right for you!
Key Takeaways
- Both models were designed with lasting EV batteries. However, as of this writing, we only know the Ford Mustang Mach-E’s specs, which include a battery range of up to 312 miles.
- The Mustang Mach-E deliveres a high-end performance, providing up to 480 horses. Meanwhile, the Prologue was meant more for comfortable around-town driving, with perhaps not as much power on tap.
- We expect both EVs to provide rich interior luxury, though we’re currently more sure about the Mustang Mach-E’s features.
- Unlike the upcoming 2024 Honda Prologue, the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is available right now!
Battery Range: 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E
Full disclaimer: there’s a lot we don’t know about the upcoming 2024 Honda Prologue. And that includes how far this EV crossover will cruise between charges. However, since we know the Prologue will share a battery with the Chevy Blazer EV, we suspect it will be able to travel somewhere between 250 and 320 miles, perhaps matching the Mustang Mach-E’s maximum battery range. However, we’re going to have to wait to find out!
Since we know the 2023 Mustang Mach-E powertrain specifications, we’re going to go ahead and give this category to Ford’s stylish EV. Keep in mind that each of its four trim models offers a slightly different battery range, with the California Route 1 model coming out on top. According to the EPA, this Mustang Mach-E keeps you going for 312 miles before it needs a recharge.
Power and Performance: 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E
Compared to the Prologue, it seems likely that the Mustang Mach-E will deliver much more power, along with an agile performance. Battery output varies according to the Mustang Mach-E trim model, however. For the swiftest ride, check out the GT Performance Edition, which makes an incredible 480 horsepower and 634 pound-feet of torque.
Although we don’t yet know how much horsepower the Prologue will generate, we don't expect this Honda to be as performance-based as the Mustang Mach-E. On the other hand, this upcoming Honda will likely to be able to zoom around town with the best of them, with more than enough power for confident merging and passing situations.
Interior Luxury: It’s (Likely) a Tie!
Although there isn’t much information about which features the Honda Prologue will offer, we’re willing to bet that they’ll be very similar to that of the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Both EV crossovers will be available as a range of trim levels, leaving you to decide which features you want to purchase. And both EVs will likely be available with heated and ventilated front seats and other luxuries. Finally, both are equally likely to deliver all the latest smartphone-friendly infotainment gadgets and driver safety aids!
There are likely to be a few discrepancies between the two, however. For 2023, all Mustang Mach-E trim models come with a panoramic fixed-glass roof. We’re not sure if the Prologue will offer a glass roof, but it’s likely to offer leather upholstery, which isn’t available for the Mustang Mach-E. Ford’s luxury EV is only available with faux-leather seating.
Availability: 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E
You can get your 2023 Mustang Mach-E right now! On the other hand, the 2024 Prologue is an upcoming model, and we’re not quite sure when it will be available for pre-order. If you’re looking for an EV you can take home today, the Mustang Mach-E is really your only option here.
Your New EV
The upcoming Honda Prologue gives us a lot to look forward to, but it’s not quite as dazzling as the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Not only does the Mustang Mach-E deliver a stunning all-electric drive, but it’s available right now!
