Yes — after a complete redesign, the 2025 Expedition kicks off the fifth generation of Ford’s iconic full-size SUV! When it was remaking the interior, Ford went all out to accommodate active families. Car and Driver shares the updated three-row cabin is home to all-new infotainment technology, including a 24-inch panoramic digital display and the Google-based Ford Digital Experience infotainment system. BlueCruise is also widely available, allowing you to cruise hands-free down pre-mapped divided highways!

The new Expedition is rugged as ever. A new trim model lineup introduces an off-road-ready option, the Tremor, which upgrades your adventures with 33-inch all-terrain tires, an electronic-locking rear differential, and best-in-class ground clearance! Plus, all but the base Active trim model come standard with sporty four-wheel drive (which is available as an option for the Active).

And with its newfound versatility, this redesigned SUV also makes family traveling a little easier. A new rear liftgate, the Ford Split Gate, is part liftgate (the top two-thirds of it lifts up to open) and part tailgate (the lower third opens down and out, like a truck’s tailgate). Inside, a sliding front center console moves fore and aft to improve space in either the front or second rows. And a 40/20/40-split rear bench seat makes it easy to create a long aisle up the center of the cabin, so you can transport fun-loving gear like surfboards and fishing rods.

While the 2025 Expedition also features sleek new styling, Ford really put the focus of this redesign on the interior. The result is a savvy, versatile road-trip warrior, perfect for families who love to get away from it all.

Every trim model — the Active, Platinum, Tremor, and King Ranch — include the all-new infotainment system, Ford Digital Experience, along with the wireless versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. And in addition to the 24-inch panoramic driver information display, the new Expedition also features a 13.2-inch center stack touchscreen that makes it easy to access your music collection and navigation options.

With seven- or eight-passenger seating (depending on whether your model features a second-row bench or a pair of second-row captain’s chairs), the Expedition provides a comfy trip for the whole family. And new storage options (like the ones mentioned above) make it easy to travel with long or unwieldy items. On the back of each front-seat headrest, you’ll find clasps designed to secure a tablet, allowing you to set up your own ad hoc rear-seat entertainment system!
